How to see YouTube video tags in Safari.

Open the video and look for Tags.

1. Enable CreatorHat in Safari.

   Install the Mac app, enable its Safari extension, and allow it on YouTube. Open the public watch page for the video you want to inspect.

2. Find the CreatorHat panel.

   Look for its Tags section. It displays the tag strings available in that video's YouTube page data. You do not need access to the creator's Studio account.

3. Copy the list if it helps your research.

   Click Copy all to copy the tags. Save useful subject wording for your notes, then choose terms that describe your own video. Copying another creator's tags does not reproduce their results.

Three different kinds of words.

These are illustrative examples. Seeing a tag on a video does not tell you how many people searched for it, whether the video ranks for it, or how many views it brought in.

Find useful language, then check the topic.

A tag list can reveal a product name, an alternate spelling, or a more specific description of a subject. Use that as a lead for keyword research. Look at autocomplete and the actual videos returned for a phrase before building your title around it.

YouTube says tags have a limited role in discovery and can help with commonly misspelled terms. It gives more importance to the title, thumbnail, and description. Do not paste a tag list into your description as a block of keywords.

What if the list is empty?

CreatorHat shows "No tags on this video" when the page data it reads contains no tags. That can mean the creator supplied none, or that tags are not available through the page data. It is not proof that the video has no keywords or cannot be found in search.
